چکیده
David B. Goldstein is Professor of Genetics in the Galton Laboratory, Department of Biology, at University College London. His training is in population genetics, and his primary contributions have been in assessing the medical and evolutionary implications of human genetic diversity. His work currently focuses on pharmacogenetics, the genetics of complex disease, and human evolution. He received his PhD from Stanford University in 1994 and moved to the UK in 1996.

In this paper, we will show $Gcong mathrm{PSL}(5,q)$ if and only if $|G|=|mathrm{PSL}(5,q)|$, and $G$ has a conjugacy class size $frac{| mathrm{PSL}(5,q)|}{p}$. Further, the validity of a conjecture of J. G. Thompson is generalized to the groups under consideration by a new way.
